The Gospels and Readings we hear at Sunday Masses and Major Feasts are different for each year. The Church has three "Cycles" for the Word of God we hear at our Masses. They are set in three-year Cycles, called simply "A," "B," and "C," respectively.
For example, in looking at Deacon Bob's Homily Archives, you will notice that 2014 is Cycle "A," then 2015 is Cycle "B," and finally 2016 is Cycle "C." Now that we are in 2017 (remember that the new Church Year starts with the First Sunday of Advent), we are back to Cycle "A" again. And so it goes every three years.
Most Holy Redeemer's deacon is Keith Berg. Some of his homilies can be found in a new book published by Apologia Transmedia (amazon.com) or online on this website, where you can find additional homilies and other writings and resources at these links:
A recent collection of Homilies from our Deacon was recently edited and has just been published in a new book called "The (Jersey) Deacon's Voice." It is available at amazon.com.
DESCRIPTION of "The (Jersey) Deacon's Voice." Catholic Christians have come to love their Deacons. We have basked in the glow of their generosity and sacrifice from nearly the moment Jesus returned to His Heavenly Father and bequeathed us the Holy Spirit some two thousand years ago. Deacons have since been instruments of this Blessed Paraclete. Say "Hello" to our favorite "Jersey" Deacon, Keith, an ordained man who lives and works in one of the busiest parts of the world we call New Jersey.
Sit quietly with them and reflect on some things that keep us all up at night. Discover peace and share plans to deal with this messy world. You'll find their "voices" clearly different and their messages simple, straight, and genuinely inspiring. CLICK HERE to learn more.
